It’s an especially exciting year for ThompsonGas as we also celebrate over 80 years of serving the people, businesses, and communities who count on propane! Double the celebration!
A holiday for propane? Yes! October 7th, every year. Why? This day recognizes the vital role propane plays as a clean, reliable, and efficient energy source for millions of homes, farms, and businesses, while honoring the industry workers who supply it.
So on this day, we thank you. We are very proud to reflect on the generations of customers who’ve trusted us to power their homes, businesses, and everyday moments, and we’re grateful to continue serving the communities we’ve called home for 80 years.

As we celebrate National Propane Day and eighty years of ThompsonGas, I am reflecting on our mission and our purpose: serving you and keeping you safe.
In 1946, Lloyd and Dortha Thompson began offering propane at their general appliance store in Boonsboro, Maryland. Eighty years later, serving our neighbors remains at the heart of who we are. You’ve welcomed us into your homes and businesses, recommended us to people you care about, and trusted us to be there when it matters.
At ThompsonGas, honoring that trust means making sure you feel heard, treating you with kindness, being an advisor, keeping you safe, and taking the time to help. Behind every account is a person, and every conversation is an opportunity to make someone’s day a little easier. We strive for that not only in customer service, but also with our drivers, service technicians, managers, and leaders. One team, one mission.
