Amory is a town full of proud people that pride themselves on their community, love of music, and easy-going, southern living.
Amory is located in Monroe County in North Central Mississippi, and began as a planned railroad town for the south’s locomotive expansion in 1887, with citizens from the neighboring town Cotton Gin Port eager to leave their old town for a new one close to the train. Since then, Amoy has grown into a city with thriving local businesses and downtown district, Amory Main Street. Residents can participate in events such as the Mini Golf Crawl, grab a bite to eat at Bill’s Hamburgers, or shop at one of its signature boutique shops. With all of these new developments, Amory will continue to reach new heights, even without the railroad.
