Star Community, Inc. provides residential services to individuals with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, and other development disabilities. The nonprofit organization operates 10 group homes for more than 40 adults with developmental disabilities, a day program for more than 80 adults, and a therapeutic riding program, all on 145 acres in Hagerstown, Md.
For more than 40 years and most of Star Community’s existence, ThompsonGas has been the nonprofit’s propane gas supplier of choice. The nonprofit counts on ThompsonGas’ affordable propane prices and reliability to serve several under and above-ground propane tanks on the property. Propane service is used in several of the homes, the maintenance building, and the day program building.
With programs and buildings spread across 145 acres, Star Community’s maintenance crew has a lot to manage. Thanks to ThompsonGas, fueling their facilities takes another thing off their to-do list. “The tanks are on a refilling schedule maintained by ThompsonGas, so it is something we never have to worry about,” says Star Community Director of Development Daniel Day. “Service has never been interrupted. When we need it, it’s available.”
Star Community never has to worry about their propane tanks being refilled thanks to ThompsonGas’ propane delivery service. This frees up more time for the nonprofit to support the people who use their services. “Pricing is fair, reliability is never a question, and service is delivered with a smile,” Dan adds.
