Most homeowners have their furnaces and heating systems checked in the fall. But did you know that there are a number of things you should be doing in the spring to maintain their propane systems and propane-powered appliances.
The following are some tips to help with your spring cleaning efforts:
- Within 10 feet of your propane tank and/or cylinder(s), remove any combustible materials, such as long, dry grass, wood, and debris.
- Have appliances, such as gas-fired pool heater or gas grill, that have not been used since fall inspected by a qualified service technician before using.
- Do not store propane cylinders or tanks indoors.
- Call 811 to have your utility lines marked before you start to dig to plant spring flowers, new trees, or for any other reason.
